RWNA Report on Land Use Meeting

RE: Plans for New Mt. Bachelor Park n Ride Lot

Project Description:

1.         Located at the corner of Columbia and Commerce/Allen St.

2.         One entrance to lot off Columbia

3.         400 parking spaces

4.         Begin construction summer of 2007, finish late fall of 2007

5.         Bus cut outs and shelters at Columbia St curb.

6.         Buses to drive north on Columbia, west onto Commerce and then left onto Century to go to Mt. Bachelor

 

Concerns voiced at meeting by attendees (project neighbors, businesses, etc.)

1.         Containment of construction dust

2.         After working hours problems: RV parking, skate boarders, fireworks, debris

3.         Screening of parking lot from adjacent houses – 8’ block fence may be preferred to trees

4.         Neighbors with backyards facing the alley abutting the parking lot expressed the most concern about noise, dust, loitering, landscaping. Comment made was that if the level of security and maintenance for the new lot will be the same as the present parking lot, then that will be an issue with the neighbors.

5.         How will Mt. Bachelor control access to the lot in off season or after hours?

6.         Concern about increase in traffic from the lot onto residential Allen St.

7.         Parking spaces along alley will be the last constructed

8.         Mt. Bachelor WILL preserve all existing trees on lot
